New Heights has a high-quality team providing support to students with special and exceptional needs. New Heights complies with all applicable state and federal laws in serving students with disabilities.
The school ensures that any student with a disability attending New Heights is properly identified, assessed, and provided with necessary services and supports. New Heights meets all the requirements mandated within a student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP). The school seeks to include all special needs students with non-disabled peers to the maximum extent appropriate according to their IEP.
New Heights actively supports students who struggle academically and socially/emotionally. The current continuum of services includes: early identification of students’ with needs, extra supports for students before and after school, response to intervention, teacher /parent collaboration, and special education services.

New Heights also offers support for families to develop 504 plans for students. A 504 plan is intended for children with disabilities who do not need or qualify for special education but could benefit from accommodations and/or specialized help in school. These plans identify accommodations a child with a disability (physical or academic) needs to fully participate in the classroom and sets up ways to help the child succeed.
