Accomplishments
New Heights consistently scores higher than schools in the surrounding neighborhood. In 2022, 2023, and 2024 New Heights scored better than the state average for all our major subgroups. New Heights won the following awards:
- American’s Healthiest Schools All Star Award
- Community Schools Planning and Implementation Grant
- Residency Grant for our partnership to grow new teachers with Mount St. Mary’s University
- Public Charter Schools Dissemination Grant from CDE given to high-quality charter schools to share best practices in oral language development.
- U.S. News and World Report Best Middle Schools award
New Heights Charter School’s hiring practices reflect our commitment to diversity. Our teaching faculty is 59% Latinx, 18% Asian, 18% African American, and 5% White and 55% of our teachers are bilingual speaking both Spanish and English.
