Born and raised in southern California Mr. Donnell spent 4 years in New Orleans for undergrad. He earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Xavier University of Louisiana. He majored in psychology and minored in chemistry while also taking classes in biology and physics. He was involved throughout his time in college through various research, volunteer, and community service opportunities. Returning home, he worked as a one on one aid for an 8-year-old student with special needs. Inspired and impressed, Mr. Donnell became intent on delivering the best quality instructional practices for diverse groups of students. He believes New Heights is a place that can meet the needs of all learners.
Words to describe Mr. Donnell are inquisitive, patient, reflective, and caring. He has two younger brothers. Growing up they played sports year-round. It was a big sports home, but also a home filled with togetherness and love. His youngest brother is starting year two at Grand Canyon University, and the other is in the U.S. Navy. They all have a close relationship. They talk regularly, and really enjoy being around each other. Mr. Donnell has been blessed to have positive role models that have supported him in his life journey thus far. He hopes to be the same supporting force for his students each day. He will be teaching 4th grade at New Heights this year.
