Teaching American History Grant
What is the Teaching American History project? TAH is a federal grant program designed to raise student achievement by improving teachers' knowledge and understanding of and appreciation for traditional U.S. history. Grant awards assist schools, in partnership with entities that have content expertise, to develop, document, evaluate, and disseminate innovative and cohesive models of professional development. By helping teachers to develop a deeper understanding and appreciation of U.S. history as a separate subject matter within the core curriculum, these programs improve instruction and raise student achievement.

4th graders studying California's Gold Rush studied the unique characteristics of gold rush country and the miners who made it their home. These mixed media images depict the rugged landscape and miners.
3rd grade students wrote, directed and edited 'Kids For Kindness.' KFK was inspired by a group of third graders who wanted to improve the citizenship skills of their peers.
